Practical running guide · Finish Line Labs
Before the race
Confirm the official course distance, expected weather, terrain and your realistic goal range. Charge your watch and decide whether you will use mile markers, kilometer markers or manual laps.
At the start
Give crowded starts time to settle and avoid zigzagging to hit an exact watch pace. GPS can read long through corners or among buildings, so course markers are often a better reference for official race distance.
In the final section
Check your breathing and rhythm before deciding to accelerate. A well-paced finish is the result of the full race, not just an aggressively fast last 200 meters.
Try it with your own numbers

Keep in mind
These examples illustrate calculations and general training ideas. Your ideal pace depends on fitness, recovery, health, terrain and conditions. Treat predictions as estimates rather than promises.
